What is endometriosis?
According to the World Health Organization, endometriosis is a disease where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, causing pain and/or infertility.
Symptoms include painful periods, chronic pelvic pain and pain during and/or after sexual intercourse.
If undiagnosed or diagnosed too late, endometriosis can lead to infertility and heavily weighs on the mental health of the concerned women.
